Aoudad Alterations

Aoudad
In this "Behind the Scenes" you will follow along as I alter a commercially
purchased Aoudad manikin to fit the skin properly.  The end result is shown in this photo. Many hours of work was involved to do this alteration, but that is normal, especially for exotic animals.

Painting a Reproduction Striped Bass

Picture
Here I snapped just a few photos throughout my creation of a Reproduction Striped Bass Mount. There are 1000s of different techniques when it comes to painting fish, and mine includes the use of an airbrush, powder paints, watercolor pencils, wax paint, and even finger painting from time to time. All my fish have numerous coats of a high quality gloss topcoat to protect the paint and give that wet look we all desire!

Preparing a Cape for the Tannery

WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES INSIDE. DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO SEE THEM!
Inside you will see a few photos of the process from once the deer is dropped off at my shop to prepare it for the commercial tannery. The tannery I use is located in Michigan. All mammals are skinned, split, fleshed, salted, and shipped to Michigan where they are turned into real leather.
