The Process

If  you do choose Jersey Jays Taxidermy, there are a few things I would like to explain about the process so you can understand my timeline from when you drop off your trophy and I return it to you. My turn around time varies upon the time of year, usually between six months to one year. When mounting a mammal, I use one of the  best commercial tanneries in the country for all my skins to ensure your mount  is in the best and most capable hands at all times. I don't do any "in house" tanning, as I personally feel the quality is not the same. All skins get split, fleshed, salted, then shipped out west where they are then pickled, shaved, tanned into leather, then returned to me about four months later. When it is returned, I begin the process of prepping and sculpting the form so the tanned skin fits perfectly. After the final drying stage, I paint and do finishing touches to ensure your mount is done to the quality that customers have come to expect from Jersey Jays Taxidermy. Thanks again for visiting. If you have any questions or concerns, I can be contacted by phone, e-mail, and even Facebook. I answer my e-mails numerous times throughout the day, and the only time you will get my voicemail is if I'm hunting or elbow deep in work. Good luck, hunt safe, and I hope to see you in my shop one day!

Your Deer Cape is Ruined?

Not a problem, a replacement can be obtained so you can still enjoy your
mount. If you have a harvest photo or trail cam photo of the deer, it can help
find a match that will be closeest to the original.
